Meatless Farm Enters Wider Bidfood Network with School Sausage Launch at Its Core

Meatless Farm has broadened its relationship with foodservice distributor Bidfood to extend its products beyond the previously announced Butlins nomination, making its full range available to Bidfood’s wider network of UK foodservice operators.

The expanded listing includes the brand’s free-flow mince, plant-based sausages, and plant-based chicken breasts, building on an existing arrangement that has seen Meatless Farm products listed nationally at Butlins since last year.

Sausages enter 950 schools via Caterlink

The most immediate outcome of the expanded partnership is the introduction of Meatless Farm’s plant-based sausages into 950 UK schools through catering provider Caterlink. Made from pea and rice protein, the product is free from common allergens and positioned as a high-protein option for school menus.

Reaching schools, hospitals, and beyond

“Our sausages are ideal for schools, as they’re free from common allergens and packed with protein. We’re excited to give children more plant-based options that are both tasty and nutritious,” said Adam Lyons, who returned to lead VFC Foods earlier this year following a period of corporate restructuring.

Alongside the Bidfood expansion, Meatless Farm has recently added plant-based chicken nuggets to its listing with Brakes, another major UK foodservice wholesaler. The brand has previously secured placements with Pret a Manger, Itsu, and TGI Fridays.

Lyons continued, “Expanding with Bidfood is a key milestone for Meatless Farm. As demand for plant-based options rises, this partnership allows us to offer versatile solutions for everything from high-end restaurants to schools, care homes, and hospitals.”
