Nufarm is on track for a stronger financial year, with underlying EBITDA expected to reach between A$370 million and A$380 million in FY26, representing approximately 25 per cent growth at the midpoint compared with the previous year.
The Australian crop protection and seed company also expects leverage to decline significantly to about 2 times as of September 30, 2026, from 2.7 times a year earlier. The improvement is expected to reflect higher earnings, positive free cash flow generation and disciplined working-capital management.
Seed Technologies is expected to be the main contributor to earnings growth, supported by stronger performance in hybrid seeds and improved pricing for Omega-3. Crop Protection, meanwhile, is expected to deliver underlying EBITDA broadly in line with the prior corresponding period, with foreign exchange headwinds, manufacturing disruptions and softer market conditions in North America weighing on performance.
The earnings improvement comes as Nufarm advances a strategy refresh aimed at simplifying its operations, reducing costs and improving returns. The company is targeting A$50 million in annualised cost savings by the end of FY27.
The restructuring includes the planned closure of its Alsip manufacturing facility in the US, following the previously announced closure of its Kwinana site in Western Australia. Nufarm is also accelerating efforts to rationalise its product portfolio and reduce the number of stock-keeping units across the business.
Nufarm expects material items for FY26 to total between A$90 million and A$110 million after tax. The company said these charges will be primarily non-cash and relate largely to implementation of the strategy refresh and cost-reduction programme, including site rationalisation, the Kwinana and Alsip closures and associated restructuring costs.
The company’s expected reduction in leverage marks a significant improvement from the 2.7 times reported at the end of FY25 and gives the business greater financial flexibility as it continues to reshape its crop protection and seed operations.
Nufarm is scheduled to report its full FY26 results on November 19, 2026.
