Spanish AgriTech startup Sowify has launched Luca, a digital agriculture platform that combines agronomic and economic farm data with artificial intelligence to help farmers make more precise production and business decisions.

The platform, introduced on September 4, 2026, is designed to bring information that is often managed separately into a single system, allowing farmers to assess how agronomic decisions affect costs, productivity and profitability.

The launch addresses a common challenge in farm management: the fragmentation of technical and financial information.

Farmers may have separate data on soil conditions, crop performance, weather, inputs and machinery while managing costs and revenues through different systems. Luca is designed to combine these datasets so farmers can evaluate their operations from both agronomic and economic perspectives.

According to Sowify, Luca integrates agronomic data and AI to generate application maps that can help farmers optimise the use of agricultural inputs, increase productivity and reduce costs.

Its fertilisation module analyses the nutritional requirements of individual plots, assesses productive potential and provides production forecasts to support input decisions.

The platform also includes an economic analysis module that uses farm data and predictive models to assess costs, revenues and crop profitability. Farmers can use the system to identify areas for optimisation and simulate different production or market scenarios before making decisions.

Machinery management is another component of the platform.

Luca analyses machinery parameters and can generate routes for individual plots, with the aim of reducing operating time and fuel consumption. Sowify says this can also contribute to lower emissions and improved machinery utilisation.

The technology builds on Sowify’s experience in precision agriculture. The company says it has more than eight years of experience in the field and develops its own agricultural software and data-management tools. Its wider technology offering includes APIs for fertiliser, crop-protection and insurance companies.

Sowify’s founder and CEO, Marcos Esteve Pamias, is also a farmer, a background that has shaped the company’s approach to developing Luca.

In a recent interview, Esteve said the platform was developed to help farmers use data to improve the efficiency and profitability of their operations.

The launch comes as European farmers face pressure from rising input costs, changing weather conditions and tighter margins, increasing the importance of technologies that can support more targeted decisions. Rather than simply collecting farm data, Luca is positioned to convert that information into recommendations covering fertilisation, machinery, production and financial planning.

Sowify’s development reflects a broader shift in AgriTech towards decision-support systems that combine artificial intelligence, precision agriculture and farm economics.

For farmers, the value of such systems will ultimately depend on whether the recommendations can translate into measurable improvements in input efficiency, productivity and profitability under real farm conditions.
