Steakholder Foods Lines Up KeHE Distribution for Perfecta’s US Retail Debut

Steakholder Foods has secured retail distribution through KeHE Distributors for the US launch of its Perfecta plant-based meat range, giving the Israeli 3D-printing company a national distribution partner ahead of its planned entry into American grocery stores.

Distribution deal follows May launch announcement

The company, headquartered in Israel, first outlined plans in May to bring Perfecta to US consumers in the second half of 2026, positioning the range as a premium, whole-cut alternative to conventional meat. The KeHE agreement builds on that plan, adding a nationwide natural and specialty food distributor to support retail placement once the product reaches shelves.

The rollout will begin in the Northeastern United States, with Steakholder Foods outlining a roadmap for expansion into additional regions through the third and fourth quarters of 2026. No specific retail chains or launch dates have been disclosed.

Perfecta’s lineup includes whole-cut formats developed to replicate steak and chicken breast, along with extruded products such as burgers and fish patties. The company has said its production process is designed to create a fibrous texture and marbling-like characteristics intended to address the taste and texture barriers that have limited broader adoption of plant-based whole cuts.

Company targets flexitarian consumers

Arik Kaufman, CEO of Steakholder Foods, said, “Overcoming the consumer barriers of texture and taste has made Perfecta a real game changer in the plant-based meat category. Perfecta is aiming to become a significant player in the alternative protein industry.”

Steakholder Foods, founded in 2019, has built its business primarily around selling 3D-printing production systems and proprietary premix blends to food manufacturers. The Perfecta brand marks its shift toward direct retail sales under its own label rather than solely licensing its technology to other producers.
