Vegan Pet Food Brand Omni Raises £11M After Year of Tenfold Growth

UK vegan pet food company Omni has raised £11 million in a funding round led by IW Capital, with participation from Redrice Ventures, Rootbridge Capital, Digitalis Ventures, Lever VC, Ani.VC, and Ami Capital. The B Corp certified company says it has grown more than tenfold over the past year and added over 100,000 customers since its Dragons’ Den appearance, where it secured backing from Deborah Meaden and Steven Bartlett.

Novel proteins target common allergens

Beef, chicken, and dairy, all animal-based ingredients commonly used in conventional pet food, are among the most frequently reported allergens in dogs, often linked to skin and gut symptoms.

Omni’s food, treats, and supplements use yeast, algae, and pulse-derived proteins in place of these ingredients, formulated by the company’s veterinary team to deliver complete nutrition without the same triggers.

Co-founder and practising veterinarian Dr Guy Sandelowsky said, “With chronic conditions in pets growing at double-digit rates, consumers are actively moving away from allergy-triggering and calorie-heavy brands. Omni Pet is leading this shift by bringing together clinical know-how and round-the-clock vet access to give pet owners practical, long-term support for their pets’ health.”

Repeat backing from Dragons’ Den investors

Deborah Meaden, who first invested in Omni through Dragons’ Den, has reinvested in the new round. She stated, “What impressed me about Omni from the beginning was its commitment to combining science and innovation without compromising on sustainability or ethics. The team have continued to execute exceptionally well, building a fast-growing brand with real purpose behind it. That progress is exactly why I chose to double down and reinvest.”

Funding to support retail expansion

The capital will go toward customer acquisition, a move into retail, and new product development, including a drug-free, natural weight-management supplement for dogs that Omni has likened to “Ozempic-style” treatments. The company first detailed plans for the supplement, LeanPaws, last year.

Giles Humphries of Redrice Ventures noted, “Great businesses solve real problems at scale. Omni is doing exactly that in one of the fastest-evolving consumer categories, combining clinical credibility, exceptional execution and products that pet owners genuinely love.”
