Chengdu New Sun Secures Vietnam Registration for Garlic-Based Biofungicide, Advancing Southeast Asia Market Expansion

By Chengdu Newsun|27 February 2026

Chengdu New Sun Crop Science Co., Ltd., an agricultural biotechnology company specializing in biological crop protection and plant-derived solutions, has officially received pesticide registration approval in Vietnam for its garlic bulb extract biofungicide (5% allicin microemulsion).

The product is primarily designed for the control of bacterial and soil-borne diseases and represents one of New Sun’s key products in its natural product-based crop protection portfolio.

Allicin, a plant-derived antimicrobial compound extracted from garlic, has an established registration and application history in China. According to public registration records, New Sun’s allicin-based product has been approved domestically (Registration No. PD20161251) for controlling multiple crop diseases, including bacterial angular leaf spot in cucumber, citrus canker, pepper wilt, and cabbage soft rot.

The successful registration in Vietnam marks an important milestone in the company’s international commercialization strategy and strengthens its presence in Southeast Asia.

Vietnam represents a key strategic overseas market for New Sun. In recent years, the company has expanded its local footprint by introducing core biological products, including pollen polysaccharide and astragalus polysaccharide, into the Vietnamese market. In 2025, New Sun also hosted its first overseas biological product launch event in Vietnam, supporting the adoption and promotion of biological crop inputs across Vietnam and the broader Southeast Asian region.
