Mushus Launches as UK’s First Sparkling Skincare Drink with Vegan Collagen

Met Foods, the UK company behind dairy-free brands Nush Foods and Cocos Organic, has launched Mushus, a lightly sparkling functional drink formulated with plant-based collagen and positioned at the intersection of beauty and gut health, as originally reported by FoodBev Media.

The product is being marketed as the UK’s first sparkling skincare drink featuring vegan collagen. It launches in two flavours, Raspberry Fizz and Pineapple Fizz, in 250ml six-packs priced at £20.

Inside the formulation

Each serving contains 3g of plant-based collagen peptides alongside hyaluronic acid, organic tremella mushroom, and probiotic strain HU58. The company claims the vegan collagen is up to five times more bioavailable than bovine alternatives due to its peptide structure. The drinks contain no added sugar, artificial sweeteners or preservatives, and come in under 20 calories per 100ml.

A personal starting point

Founder Bethany Eaton developed Mushus following her own experience managing skin health after chemotherapy, which she says led her to explore the relationship between gut health, nutrition, and skin function.

“I wanted to simplify what can often feel like an overwhelming routine of supplements, and create something convenient, effective and enjoyable to take every day,” Eaton said.

The launch arrives as the ingestible beauty segment continues to grow, with brands increasingly combining probiotics, collagen, and hydration-focused ingredients in ready-to-drink formats. Vegan collagen in particular has gained traction as consumers seek alternatives to bovine and marine-derived products.

“For me, it’s about rethinking how we approach beauty and wellness,” said Eaton. “Don’t take your skin supplements, drink them.”
