Beauty companies are increasingly shifting AI strategies from operational efficiency toward discovery and personalization. dsm-firmenich is applying AI to ingredient discovery through its partnership with Boltz, while The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) is using AI-powered insights through Profound to optimize brand visibility across generative search platforms.

Why it matters: RTP-026 is the first drug based on annexin A1, one of the body’s own brakes on inflammation, to be tested in heart attack patients. Three decades of trials to limit infarct size have been “disappointingly neutral,” an August review concluded.

Why it matters: TGF-β signaling is an important driver of fibrosis and an attractive target in IPF. AGMB-447 blocks ALK5, a receptor that transmits TGF-β signals into cells, but the inhibition of this pathway throughout the body has been held back by safety concerns.
