Corteva and Globachem to Form Joint Venture for New Crop Protection Solutions
09 September 2026, Indianapolis: Corteva and Globachem N.V. have entered into a definitive agreement to establish a 50/50 joint venture focused on developing and commercializing formulated crop protection solutions for farmers in Europe and the Americas.
The joint venture will operate independently and combine technologies from the late-stage development and commercial pipelines of both companies. It will focus on developing, registering and bringing new crop protection products to market. The resulting products may be commercialized independently by either or both parent companies.
The partnership will combine Corteva’s crop protection research and development capabilities with Globachem’s expertise in product development and formulation.
“This is the latest example of how we’re leveraging collaborations to strengthen and broaden our portfolio as we prepare to launch as a standalone crop protection company following our planned separation,” said Brook Cunningham, Senior Vice President at Corteva. “By combining our industry-leading pipeline and innovation capabilities with Globachem’s expertise in formulation, we aim to scale and accelerate the delivery of more tailored, comprehensive solutions for core crops in targeted markets.”
The joint venture builds on an existing multi-year partnership between Corteva and Globachem. The companies said the new structure will allow them to expand their collaboration across product development, regulatory registration and commercialization.
Products developed through the joint venture are expected to begin reaching the market in the early 2030s and will be distributed through established commercial channels.
Koen Quaghebeur, Chief Visionary Officer and Co-founder of Globachem, said the agreement marks a further step in the companies’ existing relationship.
“Together, Corteva’s world-class discovery and development capabilities and Globachem’s expertise in product development, formulation and regulatory execution, create a powerful platform for innovation,” Quaghebeur said. “The JV will accelerate the delivery of differentiated crop protection solutions that help growers address evolving agronomic challenges and seize new opportunities.”
The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory clearances and other required approvals.
