YTO tractor assembly starts in Congo

The first batch of YTO tractors has rolled off the production line at YTO’s agricultural equipment assembly plant in the Republic of the Congo. The first machines are ready to be delivered to local customers.

President Denis Sassou Nguesso witnessed the milestone and became the owner of the first tractor to come off the production line. The plant in Congo assembles models of 75 and 130 horsepower.

The start of tractor assembly represents an important development for YTO, namely a shift from exporting its Chinese-built tractors and equipment, to establishing stronger industrial presence in agriculture on the African continent. Africa is an important market for the tractor manufacturer from China.  In the company history is written that YTO opened its first office in Ivory Coast already in 1992.
