Suterra Acquires Vestaron’s R&D Assets and Product Lines
Suterra, a division of The Wonderful Company and a global leader in biological pest control, has announced it has acquired the product lines, active ingredients, and research and development pipeline of Vestaron.
The acquisition includes the Spear® and Basin™ product lines, both of which recently received EPA approval for use in the United States. The agreement also includes assets of Vestaron’s Kalamazoo, Michigan research facility and the additional active ingredients and product formulations underway.
Suterra plans to begin manufacturing its own branded and supported Spear® Lep product later this year.
“Spear® Lep is already familiar to many growers and advisers,” said Matthew Bohnert, President of Suterra. “We’re excited to bring this product into Suterra’s portfolio and continue supporting growers with reliable supply and technical expertise.”
Vestaron leadership also expressed confidence in the transition.
“Suterra has demonstrated a consistent ability to successfully scale biologically based technologies, but what makes this combination particularly compelling is the grower adoption and proven success of Spear® LEP in the market,” said Juan Estupinan, CEO and President of Vestaron. “We are incredibly proud of what has been built, and confident that this platform will continue to deliver even greater value to growers globally.”
Suterra will work closely with growers and crop advisers in the coming months to create new, enhanced Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs that incorporate the multiple modes of action inherent in its complete portfolio of biological pesticides.
