French plant-based meat producer HappyVore will attempt to set a Guinness World Records title for the largest plant-based barbecue gathering, measured by number of participants, on June 29 in Paris. Entry is free with registration.
The attempt takes place at Ground Control, a multi-use venue in the city’s 12th arrondissement, with doors opening at 7pm and the official record window beginning at 7:30pm. A Guinness World Records adjudicator will be on site to confirm the result, which depends on the number of participants seated in a defined area and eating simultaneously for a minimum of 30 minutes. The outcome is expected to be announced the same evening.
Plant-based sausages central to the tasting
Attendees will be served from HappyVore’s barbecue range, including its chipolatas and merguez-style sausages, which the company says are among its top-selling products. Capacity is limited, and the brand has directed the public to register through its event registration page.

Part of a fast-growing plant-based meat business
HappyVore was founded in Paris in 2019 by Guillaume Dubois and Cédric Meston under the name Les Nouveaux Fermiers, rebranding to HappyVore in 2021. The company has since expanded beyond its original meat-style staples, launching a pea protein ham alternative last year and dessert-inspired Croq’Coulis snacks in 2024. It also operates what it has described as France’s largest plant-based meat production facility, located in Chevilly near Orléans.
On its website, HappyVore describes the attempt as the biggest event of its year so far, framing it as a public celebration of the record bid rather than a private company milestone.
